Hey there Anglers!
Our cold fronts are finally starting to push through the state here and hopefully we’ll start to flush some of the fresh water out of the saltwater after all these hurricanes that have passed. Still lots of dirty water around but it’s slowly flushing out making for a lot better fishing now. Our Mullet Run is in full swing here in Daytona Beach, flounder have started to move in offshore now. We’re catching these fish with an 8 ounce jig head tipped with either shrimp, or mullet. A paddle tail jig gulp baits usually work good anywhere except around the mouth of any of the Creeks up in the North Daytona area all the way to New Smyrna beach and north Mosquito Lagoon.
Big red fish can still be caught in the inlet using crabs, pinfish, or some mullet either cut or live, doesn’t matter right now they’re actually feeding really well. On the outgoing tides there are lots of Jax Bluefish running around in the North End of the river system here in Ponce Inlet, Daytona Beach area and New Smyrna areas and for those either use top water or live bait. With all the Mullet Run going on it’s usually best to cast Net bait free line and let the action begin!
That’s all for now, don’t forget to book a charter with me and we’ll go catch something!
